When Jonathon Parker partners with a magnetic, high-rolling investor, two corrupt RCMP officers decide his loyalty is worth destroying. What follows is extortion, an attempt to coerce a false witness statement tied to an actual murder, and a fire that burns down everything he has built — engineered by the very men sworn to prevent it.
PART TWO — MAINTAINING THE RIGHT
Wrongfully convicted and sent to a maximum-security prison, Jonathon Parker has one thing his tormentors don't: the truth, on tape, and a single honest investigator willing to listen.
Part Two follows what vindication actually costs — a marriage that doesn't survive it, a family that is never quite the same, and a man who chooses, in the end, to forgive the people who took thirty years from him anyway.
WHY TWO PARTS
Based on a true story the RCMP settled, sealed, and hoped the world would forget. The split falls where the book's own act break falls: on the eve of an unjust trial. Part One is the fall. Part Two is what it took to undo it.
The story sits across three traditions — the biographical crime thriller, the legal and courtroom drama, and the prestige true-story drama.
